It has truly been an honor for me to Guest Judge this week. I was over-the-top impressed with the true art, creativity, thoughtfulness, and skill dedicated to creating such moving images with such emotive stories. Choosing just 11 has been a blessed challenge. Of one thing I am truly confident: each of you certainly has bright paths “up ahead” filled with promise and light! :)
Top 10 (in no particular order)
The center composition, the sky, the leading lines, the kiddos looking at each other = <3 In my mind they are thinking, "Look at this awesome adventure before us!" What a beautiful story here!

This image is completely intriguing - the lines, the shadows, the 2 trees and the distortion add the perfect amount of mystery.

The leading lines in this image are superb – combine that with the contrast of the winter gear at the beach, the little one running after the older, the muted colors and contrast

This one starts with the pigtails J but then my eye leads up the path to where she’s headed. The processing here adds such depth and further enhances the subject.

The colors, composition and contrast in this image are exceptional. I love how the light is so perfectly reflected on the wet sand and the movement and lines in the sand echo the sky. Simply lovely.

What depth to this image! I love how her little footprints stop leaving the viewer to imagine the big, wide world in front of her filled with the movement of the birds and ocean. A beautiful story.

The rich tones here add such depth - and her yellow shirt surrounded by those yellow leaves combined with the center composition really help to draw the viewer into her world.

I love how the color and the stance of the chicken and the boy mimic one another. This has great leading lines and a sense of mystery with the little one’s face absent from the image. Lovely!

The leading lines of the fence along with that gorgeous ray of light peeking through really draw the eye to the handsome subject. It leaves the viewer to wonder what’s swirling in his mind as he strolls along down his neighborhood street and the childhood adventures he has there.

I love how the little ones are in step! And the composition is perfect here – the perfect amount of sky to leave the viewer the sense that there is a huge world awaiting these little ones. I also love the soft tones here. Lovely!

And the winner is.....
This image stopped me in my tracks. The lines of the tree creating that perfect triangle highlighting the adventurous little one, the movement created by the subject’s stance as well as the distortion, the bokeh and sunlight capturing the eye perfectly. This piece of art not only fits the theme but also captures such a wonder-filled story.
